In April 2022, Miki Young Brown—a proud Military Veteran, former public school educator, and devoted homeschooling mom—embarked on a creative journey that began as MYB Designs. While guiding her bright neurodivergent daughter’s homeschool experience, Miki discovered the art of journal design—not just as a hobby, but as healing. What started as a therapeutic outlet to navigate her own mental health challenges quickly became a space of purpose, peace, and possibility.

Fueled by creativity and determination (and zero formal design training), Miki transformed her passion into a digital design studio—learning everything from scratch, guided by mentors and an unshakable vision. By early 2023, MYB Designs had evolved into an online boutique offering journals, workbooks, and custom products that celebrated melanated beauty, neurodivergent brilliance, and emotional wellness.

But as Miki and her mission grew, so did the vision.

What began as one woman’s creative healing expanded into a movement of soul, color, and community...

and thus, Soul & Spectrum was born.
